ABSTRACT

Abstract. The plasma conditions of the Ni-like Ag, Cd, In, Sn, Sb x-ray lasers and the Ne-like Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn x-ray lasers are studied. By comparing the hydrodynamic characteristics of ion abundance, ion population density and electron temperature for these Ne-like ions and Nilike ions, we conclude that there is a similarity of plasma conditions between these Ne-like and their partner Ni-like x-ray lasers. The ionization energy for these Ne-like ions with their partner Ni-like ions is also compared to further understand this similarity. The comparison of the ionization energies supports the conclusion from the hydrodynamic simulation.
