ABSTRACT

Necessity of the application of small rise times of discharge current (T < 10 ns), caused by inadmissibility of injection in the discharge erosion products and development of MGD instabilities, imposes the rigid requirement to the minimal inductance of capillary load. At close placing of the coaxial return conductor relatively the dielectric tube, the limited penetration of an electric field into the capillary excludes the application of additional gas discharges because of impossibility of electric breakdown of long gas gaps at moderate voltage. Just in these conditions the ignition of sliding surface discharge, developing as a running wave becomes rather effective [2].
