ABSTRACT

Abstract. We report measurements of soft X-ray spectra emitted by pinching capillary plasma created by a fast electrical discharge in an alumina capillary filled with nitrogen. The observed spectral lines are identified according to the synthetic spectra generated by means of the SAPPHIRE code. Peak plasma electron temperature of about 30 eV at the time of weak pinch collapse is estimated for the peak of current pulse 10 kA and the quarter of quasi-period 50 ns.
