ABSTRACT

Equilibrium was never reached in this cyclic process. The gas oil conversion, i.e., the amount of feed converted to lighter components, was high the start of a reaction cycle and progressively diminished as the carbon deposit accumulated on the until regeneration was required. Multiple reactors were used to approach a steadystate process. However, the resulting process flows were still far from steady state. The reaction bed temperature varied widely during reaction and regeneration periods, and the temperature differential within the bed during each cycle was considerable.
