Note that we only consider the case when the kernel K is a field. Also, to avoid the unnecessary exclusion of quasifields Q which are, themselves, skewfields, we shall often speak of a quasifield Q that has ‘dimension two over a kernel field’ K to that either K is the entire kernel, or Q is a skewfield with K in its kernel.
