ABSTRACT
Perfluorocarbons (PFCs), also referred to as perfluorochemicals and fluorocar-
bons, are clear, colorless fluids with a density approximately twice that of wa
ter. These fluids have a highly unique set of physical characteristics that have
allowed their use in unusual medical and therapeutic applications.
