ABSTRACT
P roturans are seldom seen except by specialists. The order, not recognized until 1907, remains poorly known even with the current interest in soil biology. For example, the eggs have not been discovered, and although individuals are probably abundant and widespread, they have never been reported in many regions of North America and other parts of the world. The discerning collector might therefore succeed in making some interesting discoveries about these puzzling hexapods.
