ABSTRACT
The rapid development of video technology and the even more dramatic improvements in computer hardware are the basis for real-time analysis of large numbers of tracks, which warrants high statistical significance and detailed data analysis.35-37 In parallel, the development of mathematical approaches and computer algorithms allow researchers a more and more detailed extraction of relevant movement and orientation parameters.38•39 Recently, a robot was constructed, which is capable of recognizing and touching moving objects; this task requires real-time movement analysis. The biologically inspired control systems produce strangely life-like movements.40
