ABSTRACT

Renaissance Europewas teemingwith creative activity, probing in all directions with a fresh outlook, seething with rebellion. Upon this turbulent scene burst an outspoken, upstart personality, a young man with wavy red hair and feisty demeanour. Galileo Galilei dared to openly criticize Aristotle and his laws of motion, not with Scholastic argument or logical expositions, but with fresh observations and an inventive approach – controlled experiments.
