Electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) at the magic angle
ABSTRACT: Experimental evidence for the magic collection angle for ELNES data, where spectral intensities are independent of specimen orientation, is presented for the case of measurements recorded in a TEM with parallel illumination. The
' results indicate that, for a given energy loss, the value is of the order of twice the characteristic angle for inelastic scattering. A theoretical derivation which supports these findings is also provided.
