ABSTRACT
Electron spectroscopy, particularly the surface electron spectroscopies, electron microscopy and scanning probe microscopy are important techniques for characterisation of semiconductor thin films. Over the past twenty years electron optical systems have also become increasingly important in the formation of sub-micrometre structures in semiconductors.
