ABSTRACT
The structural and probability equations of causation are important, but especially in complex systems it is extremely useful to be able to visualize the causal pathways.1 In this section I want to introduce three graphical symbols, solid circle, open circle, and asterisk, that make it easy to translate equations into graphical diagrams.
