ABSTRACT
In this section I would like to consolidate the material of the two preceding sections. The causal situation is shown on the left side in Figure 1. The relationship I am interested in is the causal xj-> x2 [F]. There are two problems. First, as shown in the figure, I only have surrogate x3 for X] and surrogate x4 for x2. Secondly, in addition to the parameters connecting the factors with their surrogages (P3:o.i, £33, p4:0.2, p4.2) the data I have will only connect the surrogates, to compute p4:0.3 and p4:3.
