ABSTRACT
The purpose of modeling is usually to try to say something about all the causal influences among a collection of variables. This inevitably leads to some assumptions that would justify the modeling process. As we have seen, to reason about causal relationships a fairly daunting number of assumptions appear to be required. In this section we blithely assume them all, in order to see what the modeling consequences would be.
