ABSTRACT
In developing the MSC approach and the materials for this book, I was well aware, of course, of the modern approach to causation based on directed acyclic graphs (DAGs). Although I believe that there is at a fundamental level a fairly large disconnect between DAG theory and MSC theory, I have been asked multiple times to try to relate the two approaches, and that is the purpose of this section.
