ABSTRACT

Example 11. 11 A rigid retaining wall of 6 m height (Fig. Ex. 11.11) has two layers of backfill. The top layer to a depth of 1.5 m is sandy clay having l/J= 20°, C = 12.15 kN/m2 and r= 16.4 kN/m3. The bottom layer is sand having l/J = 30°, C = 0, and r= 17.25 kN/m3.
