(b) O'Neill and Reese Qb = 3,046 kN As above, Qbm = 0.20 x 3,046 = 609 kN Using Qjm in (a) above, Qas = 609 + 12,435 = 13,044 kN The value of Qas is closer to Qa (Vesic) but much higher than Qa calculated by all the other

methods.
