ABSTRACT
The index Ie reflects the state of the clay soil condition in the field in an undisturbed state just in the same way as II described earlier. The values of Ie for different states of consistency are given in Table 3.10 along with the values Ii" It may be seen that values of Ie and Ie are opposite to each other for the same consistency of soil.
