ABSTRACT

In the present work, we studied and realised two damage detection systems integrated in a radome sandwich structure, one based on Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (OTDR) and the other on Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors [1], [2]. Results of Optical Fiber Health Monitoring tests performed in radome sandwich structures have been compared to those given by classical methods using ultrasonics, shearography and stimulated infrared thermography and show great similarities.
