ABSTRACT

FDA’s risk communication efforts, including communicating warnings, reach the public through two primary sources. First, FDA itself produces and distributes its own communications. This includes the following:

press releases and other materials for print, broadcast, and Web-based news media, intended to widely disseminate information about safety; and

brochures, booklets, and other materials that provide instruction on safe selection and use of regulated products; these are disseminated through FDA’s Web site, at conferences, through professional and consumer organizations, and through FDA’s regionally based Public Affairs Specialists.
