ABSTRACT

In good times, organizations quickly and easily supply new employees with access to the computer and network systems they need to perform their jobs. A new employee is a valuable asset that must be made productive as soon as possible. Computer and network administrators are under pres-

sure to create accounts quickly for the new hires. In many instances, employees may have more access than they truly need. The justification for this, however misguided, is that “it speeds up the process.”
