ABSTRACT: In this paper we consider the problem of calculation of steady state failure frequency and related indices ofmulti-statemonotone systems. General formulae for calculating the steady state failure frequency, both in classical form and in terms of dual number algebra, are presented. Using dual number approach, an extension of UGF method for simultaneous availability and failure frequency calculation is described. The applicability of the results is shown by some simple examples.
