ABSTRACT

This paper deals with the development of new capabilities related with risk informed licensing policies and its regulatory verification (RIR, Risk Informed Regulation), which require a more extended use of risk assessment techniques with a significant need to further extend PSA scope and quality. The computerized approach (see ESREL8 companion paper on the SCAIS system) is inspired by a coherent protection theory that is implemented with the help of a mathematical formalism, the stimulus driven theory of probabilistic dynamics, SDTPD, (ref. 1) which is an improved version of TPD (ref. 3), whose restrictive assumptions are released.
