ABSTRACT
The process of cutting high hardness materials with PCBN tools is known as hard turning. This process has been increasingly used in finishing operations and has gained position against common grinding in recent decades. The reason is that it presents two advantages over grinding: a) lower process costs, and b) lower environmental impact (König, 1993).
