ABSTRACT
Our contribution is motivated by a common situation in industrial maintenance, where the failure dataset is often limited, not only in size, but also in time to the useful period and the very beginning of ageing, thanks to the preventive maintenance operations. Although lots of Weibull models are available in the literature (for detailed information, consult e.g. (Murthy, Xie, and Jiang 2004)), there is a trend in industry to use, for the maintenance applications, simple one-mode Weibull models with a limited number of parameters to cover such cases.
