ABSTRACT
The long-term condition of a number of prestressed concrete structures has been the subject of several research projects in the United Kingdom in recent years.1-3 These projects have been aimed at determining the in-situ stresses in the structures and the residual levels of prestress. Much of the work has been carried out during the demolition of the structures, which provides an ideal testing ground and a unique loading regime.
