Dr Pavic: Have you tried to use ambient vibrations, without any trucks, just to see, for example, how the wind will excite the structure? Dr Markey: The structure is far too small. We have tested other structures where we used the IDV concept as well. For example, the Wisconsin bridge, which is a cable stayed bridge with a main span of 530m - a completely different scale. There we instrumented the bridge and there we were testing for wind excitation.
