ABSTRACT

Abstract The Structural Overpressure Test (SOT) performed at the end of 1993, marked the completion of approximately 5'12 years of construction activity on the Sizewell 'B' primary containment. The paper describes the permanent test instrumentation embedded in the containment during its construction and the additional temporary instrumentation installed for the test. The procedures used for the test to obtain and process the readings are described, in particular the system used to provide continuous updated information to the test personnel is detailed. Keywords: Overpressure testing, PWR nuclear power station, instrumentation.
