ABSTRACT
Most existing specifications designed to minimize the probability of steel corrosion in concrete deal with three specific parameters:
(1) The maximum level of chlorides to be permitted in the concrete. (2) The thickness, composition and properties of the concrete cover. (3) The maximum allowable crack width, as predicted from the design
characteristics of the member concerned.
