ABSTRACT
A companion polyester resin based concrete overlay was also laid beside the experimental epoxy concrete overlay to study the effect of shrinkage. The shrinkage strains were measured periodically from the mechanical strain gauge pellets pasted on the top surfaces of the overlays. Due to large amount of shrinkage in the polyester based resin concrete, prominent separation was observed between the overlay and the
surrounding old concrete, after a month, which was not the case in epoxy concrete overlay.
