ABSTRACT

This is a first approach of a possibility of concrete corrosion in sewage. The experiments led on show significantly that the studied products, N.T.A. and E.D.T.A., may be considered as corrosive agents even if the concentration studied in this work looks unusually high. It makes possible to see significant damage in a rather short period of testing. The effect of such products in sewer pipes would surely be much slower but it would be interesting to study them combined with corrosive products usually found in sewers such as hydrogen sulfide and sulfuric acid.
