ABSTRACT
Dr. Gerhardus Johannes van den Berg is Associate Professor, Chairman of Civil Engineering and Chairman of the Materials Laboratory in the Faculty of Engineering at the Rand Afrikaans University, Republic of South Africa. He has been active in the Chromium Steels Research Group at the Rand Afrikaans University for a number of years by means of research and publishing of papers. Dr. Pieter van der Merwe is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Rand Afrikaans University, Republic of South Africa. He is the project leader of the Chromium Steels Research Group at the Rand Afrikaans University. Marthinus Wessel Pretorius is a Research Assistant in the Materials Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering at the Rand Afrikaans University, Republic of South Africa.
