ABSTRACT
Leslie Parrott received his bachelors and doctors degrees in civil engineering from London University. Over the last 20 years he has produced about 90 publications on various aspects of concrete performance including creep, shrinkage, elasticity, strength, internal moisture, permeability and carbonation. Many of the property measurements have been paralleled by examinations of cement hydration, porosity and other aspects of microstructure. Dr Parrott is currently active on several international committees concerned with permeability, durability, moisture and modelling of microstructure.
