ABSTRACT

These tests were carried out to assess the effect of water in concrete on the adhesion strength of Aron wall coating. The concrete mix used for these tests was a 1:2·60:2·98:0·55 (cement: fine aggregate: coarse aggregate: w/c ratio) and contained a waterreducing agent. The concrete was cast in PVC boxes (thus effectively scaling the four sides and underside against moisture) and cured at various temperature and humidity conditions as shown in Table 3 for 1, 3 or 7 days. At the end of the curing period, the top face was coated with AW coating (primer+base+top coating) and left in the curing regime. The adhesion strength test was carried out at the age of 21 days.
