ABSTRACT
PAFEC-FE uses a series of straight edged, as well as isoparametric (that is elements that allow curved edges and curved sides) three-dimensional brick, triangular prism and tetrahedral elements for three-dimensional stress analysis. Wherever possible a model using two-dimensional rather than three-dimensional elements is to be preferred. The saving in data preparation and computer resources can be considerable.
