SUMMARY

A literature review of the state-of-the-art in infilled frames is presented. On the basis of analytical and experimental studies, the structural behaviour

of steel frames loaded laterally and containing concrete infills with or without shear connectors at the interfaces is described. The stress distributions in the structures, with particular attention given to the infilll frame interface stresses, are studied by means of nonlinear finite element analysis.
