ABSTRACT

In the 60’s and 70’s an intensive construction of nuclear power plants as well as nuclear research reactors took place. Being an intensive source of neutrons, these reactors for the most part served as a basis for the development of applied nuclear physics, in particular for neutron activation analysis. There were also reactors specially designed for some definite application tasks. Thus, in the USSR for Norilsk mining metallurgical enterprise a 100 kW power reactor RG-1M [7.1] was built for the activation analysis of technological products - from the initial raw materials to the output products.
