ABSTRACT
According to the phase diagram of the ZnO-MgO binary system, the thermodynamic solubility limit of MgO in ZnO has been reported to be less than 4 at.%. Nevertheless, the phase diagram predicts the solid solution of ZnO in cubic MgO lattice up to 40 at.%. Very recently, Choopun et al. [4] and Narayan et al. [5] reported the growth of cubic MgxZni_xO thin films by pulsed laser deposition, with the Mg composition x in the range of 0.50 ~ 0.86 and 0.82 ~ 1.00, respectively.
