ABSTRACT

What is real and what is not? With computer simulations today the distinction between the two is becoming more and more difficult to discern. What is computer simulation? Its name implies the essence. According to one definition it is “a computer model of a real phenomenon or system in which a 3D simulation is described by 3D models in a computer program” (About.com, n.d.) The diverse use of computer simulation is seen in the wealth of material available on the topic, from games of all sorts, to the field of medicine, to training programs (flight simulators), and information from scientists who “recreate, project into the future and predict real world phenomena” (About.com, n.d.).
