ABSTRACT

Internet providers are of two types. One is the Internet service provider (ISP), which provides the backup for the Internet access provider. The other is the Internet access provider (IAP), which is the company that provides individuals or companies access to the Internet. The Internet service provider has the equipment and telecommunication systems for the geographic area being served. The ISP provides the user with a software package and also charges a monthly fee, which varies among the many providers available. The user will then choose a username, a password, and an access phone number. Equipped with a modem, the user can then log on to the Internet and browse the World Wide Web and send or receive e-mail.
