ABSTRACT

Online conferences utilize multimedia technologies in a Webbased, real-time broadcast with off-the-shelf software and hardware. Each site has a computer with an Internet connection, a small desktop video camera, computer microphone, speakers, and Internet conferencing software. Coordinators at each site dial an IP address much like dialing a telephone. After logging in, participants at each site receive video and text from the other sites on their screen while hearing conversations through their speakers.
