ABSTRACT
Abstract Circular tubular members with a dent are studied for their load carrying capacity. Column analysis is performed on the tube using the moment-curvature approach and equations are derived assuming a strain hardening material. However, comparisons with available experimental data are made for a perfectly plastic material due to the lack of strain hardening data in the reported experiments.
