ABSTRACT
In this chapter the X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the solids resulting from combustion of coal using established and emerging technologies, and from cleaning of flue gases to remove sulfur dioxide, is discussed. A commonly used term for this class of materials is coal combustion by-products (CCBs). * Fly ash is currently the most abundant and widely utilized CCB.
