ABSTRACT
After approval of the project charter by the portfolio group or individ ual, the planning phase commences. The planners expand the project charter into the detailed project plan. The project plan includes the work breakdown structure, project schedule, budget, risk analysis, functional and technical specifications, communications plan, quality standards, and any other details felt necessary to execute the project (see methodology chapter for details). At completion, the plan will include approval signatures from the customer or sponsor and some times major stakeholder groups as well.
