ABSTRACT

Benchmarkers say that a major part of the support function of the project organization is knowledge management. Included are areas such as providing predictable and standard methodologies; ensuring that knowledge is transferred from one project to another in the form of a knowledge library; finding, evaluating, and making available the latest tools and software; seeking excellence and setting high stan dards of performance; and training and teaching of project specific skills for project managers. This chapter addresses methodologies used by the project teams in implementing specific projects. Chapter 10 will cover other knowledge management topics of tools and soft ware provision, seeking excellence, and training.
