ABSTRACT

The photorefractive crystals by definition have no central symmetry and therefore they possess the linear electrooptic effect. That is why all these materials exhibit also the bulk photovoltaic effect, i.e., the steady-state electric current is excited in a short-circuited spatially-homogeneous sample under a uniform illumination [1-3].
