ABSTRACT
Process capability indices are used to assess a process’s ability to meet a set of requirements. When used correctly these indices provide a measure of process performance that in turn can be used in the ongoing assessment of process improvement. Indices allow statistically based inferences to be used in the assessment of process capability as well as in the identification of changes in the ability of the process to meet requirements.
