ABSTRACT

Detecting the relationship between the mean and variance of the response and finding the control factors with dispersion effects in parameter design and analysis for dynamic characteristics are important. In this paper, a graphical method, called multiple mean-variance plot, is proposed to detect the relationship between the mean and variance of the response. Also to find the control factors with dispersion effects, the analysis of covariance method is proposed, and its properties are studied compared with the dynamic signal-to-noise ratio. A case study is presented to illustrate the proposed methods.
