ABSTRACT

In this chapter the author describes how her model will assist the company in managing occupational health services for its employees. The model describes processes that rely on the resources of a large, integrated health care delivery system to provide workers’ compensation care at plants, on site. Interest in ag gressive management of work-related injuries and illness is not new. The model works best with business units that are organized into an occupational health product line to serve the needs of customers, including claims processing, spe cialty and ancillary services, routine and emergency care, and data and informa tion systems.
