ABSTRACT
Cases of patients who have sustained work-related illness and injury should be reviewed monthly by the on-site occupational health and rehabilitation team (“ grand rounds” ). The review should include the patient’s diagnosis, prescription of treatment, quality assurance (e.g., number of visits), ancillary tests, and on site physical and/or occupational therapy treatments. The progress of the patient in therapy will be discussed and presented by the patient’s therapist. The schedule for further evaluation, treatment, and follow-up of the patient is documented with the goal of return to work in mind. Secondary diagnosis (e.g., arthritis) and sys temic non-work-related patient complaints may also be discussed.
